Here's what's being said about Anchor Center for Blind Children!

"I am totally amazed at the work you do and your interaction with the children and their families. Our family is so thankful for the help you have given all of us."

Cecilia, Anchor Center for Blind Children Parent

"What can I say. I remember the first time we saw you. You came to visit us at the hospital - he was 6 ½ months old. You were walking down the hall with a puppet and a smile. You gave me hope that some things may be normal. And you sat and waited for the doctor to see Michael. You didn't leave until we visited. You will never know what that meant to me. Since then you have been a part of our son's preschool time and he was so very lucky, I was lucky too. There were times you helped me see things were not so bad...keep your wonderful sense of humor and take care. Thanks again."

We started going to Anchor Center for Blind Children when Hallie was six weeks old. At that point Hallie was introduced to many different textures at her feet. We let her explore dry, sticky, wet, squishy, fuzzy, cold (etc.) textures for her sensory playtime, and Hallie loved it. Little did I know how this sensory diet would prepare Hallie for new sensory experiences, including eating. Other experiences that Carol, Cathy and Zoe recommended were proprioceptive and vestibular play activities. This included spinning, rocking, deep pressure, rolling and jumping (etc.) activities. Hallie is now a bright, beautiful, healthy 2 ½ year old who is fantastic eater!
