Meet Eric Lupher

Dancing with Anchors 2022 Contestant

About Eric

Denver7

Eric joined the Denver7 team in May 2011, and reports three days a week and anchors the weekend morning newscast.  Prior to joining Denver7, Eric worked for a tv station in Reno, Nevada, during the 2008 Presidential Campaign.  With candidates from both sides targeting Reno during their run, Eric interviewed Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama before he was elected.  After his time in Reno, Eric was lucky enough to make it back to his home state of Colorado working first in Colorado Springs (where he took first place in another dancing event, “Dancing with Colorado’s Stars”) and then received the call to work for Denver7.  Now, Eric is bringing his dance skills to the Anchor Center for Blind Children by participating in the “2022 Dancing with the Anchors” fundraising event.

Meet Eric's Dance Partner

Nicki Day

Nicki has been affiliated with Arthur Murray since 2009. She joined the Colorado team in 2014. Prior to teaching with Arthur Murray she danced with the BYU dance team where her passion for ballroom dance was ignited. She loves both the social and competitive aspects of ballroom dance and in particular within Arthur Murray. Her joy of teaching comes from how dancing influences and changes the student’s day to be filled with more positive energy and happiness. Nicki is our Castle Rock student counselor in charge of planning all of our students’, beginning through advanced, programs and schedules.

I couldn't turn down a chance to put on my dancing shoes again. I have always been a performer. I was in musicals in high school and college. To make this even sweeter, I am dancing for an incredible cause"

How does it work?

VOTING WITH YOUR DOLLARS BEFORE AND AT THE EVENT WILL DETERMINE THE WINNING TEAM – i.e. the team that raises the most money for Anchor Center, wins the competition, and the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy! Voting dollars are a charitable, tax-deductable donation benefiting the children and families of Anchor Center…and a fun way to support your favorite dance team.

IMPORTANT: Your contribution to Anchor Center for Blind Children qualifies for a 50% Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit on your CO state taxes. Example: give a $50 gift, get $25 back!

Eric and Nicki have my vote!
