Meet Katie Johnson

Katie Johnson followed in her mother’s footsteps and joined the sisterhood of Delta Gamma at the University of Denver. Her favorite part of DG is the sisterhood and philanthropy. Delta Gamma has provided her with lifelong friends and a philanthropic cause she continues to support.  

As an active Delta Gamma alum and involved Anchor Center volunteer, she has continued to “do good”, a meaningful motto to both Katie and Delta Gamma.

As a collegian, Katie held positions as VP Programming, Director of Anchor Splash, and Member at Large on Honor Board. She now holds the position of VP Foundation in the Denver Delta Gamma Alumnae chapter and heads the efforts for Visions of Love, the annual Anchor Center fundraising event.  

Katie has been a part of planning Visions of Love for two years now and is looking forward to this year’s event. Throughout her time with Anchor Center, Visions of Love has been her favorite part. She can combine her passion for Delta Gamma and its philanthropy, Service for Sight, in a single event to support Anchor Center for Blind Children.  

Katie has been involved with Anchor Center throughout both her collegiate and alumna years. She first learned about Anchor Center during her time at the University of Denver and has continued to donate her time to the organization. When asked to describe Anchor Center, Katie says “I think it is one of the most amazing places I have visited.  There is such a sense of hope and courage and love.”  

She encourages DGs of all ages to get involved in this impactful organization.

Volunteering with Anchor Center provides so much personal growth and creates a truly rewarding experience. “It gives a sense of purpose.  It is a physical place where we can see differences being made.”

Katie hopes to reach younger alumnae from all over and get them involved in the organization she speaks so highly of.
