Anchor Center for Blind Children’s largest annual fundraiser, Sunset in the Country, was held on September 30th, 2017. More than 500 supporters and friends of Anchor Center attended this unique event, held for the first time at J-5 Equestrian Center. What started as a small “Picnic in the Country” 21 years ago, has evolved into a gala with a silent auction, live auction, dinner, special guest speaker, video about Anchor Center, live entertainment, and dancing. This year, Sunset in the Country raised more than $550,000 for Anchor Center!
We are so grateful to everyone who attended, donated and volunteered to make this year’s Sunset in the Country absolutely spectacular. We can’t possibly say “thank you” better than our parent speaker, Jessica Johnson, did at the event:
“I wish ‘thank you’ was enough but it doesn’t begin to cover what a life-changing gift you are giving. In being here tonight, by supporting Anchor Center, you are helping dramatically improve lives, like mine, like my daughter Ava’s, and all of the other children with visual impairments – and their families – who have found a sanctuary in Anchor Center.”
