Visions of Love 2018 Raises $27k!

240 guests attended Anchor Center for Blind Children’s Eighth Annual Valentines fundraiser, Visions of Love, on February 9th.  This year marked the event’s biggest-ever turnout which, in turn, lead to a record-breaking amount of money raised at the event – more than $27,000! This is Anchor Center’s only annual fundraiser that is held at the center, where guests are able to enjoy an evening of philanthropy in our one-of-a-kind learning facility, built specifically to serve young children with severe visual impairments. Hosted by Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter of Denver, this year’s theme was Passport to Wines of the World and guests took a tour of wines from across the globe, paired with sweet and savory delicacies. There were even bubbly, beer, port and whiskey stations for those guests who upgraded to the VIP package.

Anchor Center staff were on hand to serve as docents and teach our guests about our services and center. Expert wine vendors explained the extensive wine samplings as guests tasted specialty charcuterie, cheese and chocolate pairings to go with each tasting. Unique features of our building were open to explore, guests took pictures in our photo booth, made tactile valentines for our children and enjoyed a night of all-around fun and fundraising!

Anchor Center is funded nearly in full by donors and grantors, and the $21,000 NET raised at Visions of Love is integral in helping us serve children with visual impairments and their families. For example: $7,500 provides seven months of toddler program for one child; $5,000 provides two weeks of Anchor’s Away summer camp for 15 children; $2,500 provides ten weeks of preschool program for one child; and $1,000 provides one year of home visits. Every single donation helps!
