Our teachers turn every moment into a teaching moment. The two block walk between Anchor Center and the neighborhood Christmas tree lot was no exception. The walk was carefully planned through tactile maps. 
Different tactile objects carefully identified as stop signs, cars and Christmas trees were placed on a page or board and rehearsed with the students as their route. Our teachers are building students’ confidence to walk independently and learn about their surroundings.
Once they arrived at the tree lot there were so many trees to touch and feel. We even found two perfect trees for Anchor Center. A special thank you to Santa’s Best Christmas Trees in Stapleton.
