Toddler Program

We support children in discovering their own gifts.

Targeted to Each Child's Needs

Our Toddler Program focuses on group play and socialization for children 18 months - 3 years old.

At Anchor Center, we engage toddlers in the exploration and discovery of their own gifts, beginning with group play and socialization. Here, learning is fun and safe.

We believe in every child’s potential to triumph. Our talented team of experts of vision and early childhood education teachers, speech/language pathologists, physical, occupational, music and recreational therapists provide personalized care. We target our program to each child’s unique developmental needs.

Families or caregivers attend the Toddler Program twice a week at Anchor Center with their child. Our team of gifted teachers and therapists:

  • Foster early literacy with pre-braille and pre-reading
  • Facilitate early peer and social interaction
  • Teach routines in daily activities
  • Lead group activities like snack time, music and play time
  • Guide and encourage safe, independent exploration and mobility including introduction to canes and assistive walking devices as needed
  • Help children gradually separate from family members or caregivers in preparation for Preschool

Hand-in-hand with families and caregivers, we teach children how to use all of their senses to learn about and safely navigate their world.

Doctors tend to focus on what’s wrong with my child. Anchor Center puts the spotlight on what’s right.

How to Enroll

Enrollment in our Toddler Program begins with our referral process. Each child should have a pediatric ophthamology exam. Once referred to Anchor Center, our team will schedule a Functional Vision Assessment (FVA) with the family. The FVA evaluates each child’s unique vision challenges and strengths, informing eligibility for vision services while assisting families in identifying the most appropriate options for their child and themselves. Click below to learn more about our enrollment process.

Tuition and Fees

We never turn any child away based on an inability to pay tuition.

To help cover the cost of our services, Anchor Center does charge tuition for our Toddler Program. Tuition is currently $150/month.

However, we never want this to be a deterrent to families receiving services; therefore, we offer a range of discounted rates to families thanks to the generosity of our loyal donors.

Tuition agreements may be made available for review upon request.

Meet Tatum

At 21 months old, Tatum and his mom Janelle were referred to Anchor Center for Cortical Visual Impairment.

“We have experienced a roller coaster of emotions with so many unknowns,” she shares.

His spirit is bright and has thrived in our Toddler Program. “Tatum loves to eat, loves music and being outdoors. He has the best smile and pout you’ll ever see,” mom says.

Today, Tatum is gaining standing strength and confidence with the help of our toddler team.

“Words cannot express how thankful we are to have Anchor Center,” Janelle exclaimed. “Tatum has gotten stronger, smarter, more motivated and gained independence. We’ll never forget how caring and compassionate everyone is here.”

Janelle echoes the sentiments of so many grateful family members. We allow children to develop in an environment suited to their needs.

“Anchor Center concentrates on the positives and ideas of how to make your child stronger and more independent. I feel proud and successful.” We are proud of families just like theirs.
