Anchor Center for Blind Children’s largest and most time-honored annual fundraiser, Sunset in the City, was held on September 18th, 2021. Our community is humbled by the amount of support and love Anchor Center received from nearly 350 guests and supporters while raising a record-setting $428,000 net amount!
What started 25 years ago as a small picnic, known as “Day in the Country”, has evolved into a gala with a silent auction, live auction, dinner, special guest speaker, video about Anchor Center, live entertainment, and dancing. Click here to view photos of the event. This year our featured speaker was Dave Bahr, our very own board member and past alum, who provided a wonderful perspective on how Anchor Center made a difference in his life.
“Anchor Center has always been a place where a child’s strength is emphasized over what might be perceived, and often is a total detrament in society, their disability. By adapting the literal space the child is in, presenting him or her with activities such as music, braille, and basic can usage, they thrive and are ready, when they graduate, to take the next steps in life.”
At Anchor Center we are in awe of our children and families strength and resilience to thrive through each step of their journey. We hope you will consider scheduling a tour today to see our programs in action, and witness our brave and incredible students flourish.
Our Sunset in the City event is over but there is still time to donate!
