Anchor Center is excited to announce the expansion of respite care services for Anchor families and alumni. Respite care – relief from caregiving duties when you’re looking after a loved one who requires frequent, monitored care – continues to be one of the largest needs for families of children with special needs.

Anchor Center supports families through continued opportunities for respite, allowing caregivers to feel confident that their Anchor Center child (and siblings) are well cared for in a nurturing, loving, safe, monitored environment.

Respite care is incredibly important for our families and offers them rest and rejuvenation, helps alleviate some of the stress that comes with caregiving, can improve or replenish patience, and restore energy…among so many other benefits.

“Anchor Center’s Family Services continues to strive to meet the needs of our families. Offering more opportunities for respite care services is one way we can support them,” says Deb Curry, Director of Family Services.

With the expansion, Anchor Center will now provide 48 events per calendar year for families to participate in, including during school breaks and in the summer. Previously, there were nine events throughout the school year.

The expansion kicked off on March 8th and below is the calendar of upcoming respite opportunities through the end of the school year.

For questions please contact, Director of Family Services, Deb Curry at dcurry@anchorcenter.org or (303) 377-9732 x 117.

P.S. We cannot provide these incredible respite services to our families without the help of our valued volunteers. Interested in a heartwarming, rewarding experience where you can make a significant difference in the lives of children with visual impairments and their families? CLICK HERE!
