It was Music Experience Day at Anchor Center! Our preschoolers had a brief introduction to each instrument before a performance of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Then they were free to explore with the musician volunteers…touching, asking questions and assisting in playing the instruments. They also learned the difference between wind instruments and string instruments, while experiencing the piano, violin, flute, trumpet, french horn, guitar and electric guitar. CLICK HERE to see a full photo album of our preschoolers enjoying Music Experience Day!

“I have ALWAYS wanted to know what’s inside a piano!!” exclaimed preschooler, Owen, as he felt the strings while the baby grand was being played by one of his classmates.

“Music is organizing, creative, and fun. It uses all areas of the brain and stimulates growth, learning, self-expression, regulation, and community. I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t love and benefit from music in some way,” says Anchor Center’s Music Therapist, Mollie Hiebert, MT-BC.
