The Virginia Deal Williams Award, named after long time Anchor Center supporter, is presented to an outstanding volunteer each year. Each recipient of this award has shown enthusiasm, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond what is asked.

This year, the award was presented to Bryan and Connor Morgan during the preschool graduation on June, 7th.

Bryan and Connor have been helping out at Anchor Center for the past three years. Bryan started out assisting part-time handyman Pat Horkan, and has been doing his own Anchor Center “Honey-Do’s” for the last two years while daughter, Mikayla, attends preschool.

Connor, Bryan’s son and Mikayla’s brother, has become both Bryan and Pat’s helper. Showing  “willingness to go above and beyond”, Connor will join his father during some school breaks and holidays to help tackle some of the bigger projects around the building and grounds.

Just a few of the many projects Bryan and Connor have completed include: carpentry work, fixing our water feature, hanging pictures, moving furniture, fixing doors, painting Little Rooms, watering plants, repairing the fence, and installing a French drain.

Bryan and Connor always arrive with smiles on their faces. Bryan’s trademark responses to our requests are, “Sure!”, “No problem!”, “I can do that!”. When Connor is here, he is right by his father’s side nodding “yes” while smiling.

We are so fortunate for the volunteer work you have done for us the past three years. Thank you for taking care of us and Anchor Center!
