Anchor Center has received nearly a decade of support from Colorado Garden Foundation, including a $4,000 grant this year to help support our Horticultural Therapy program. The generous grant will help support the program in the following ways:
• Compost Services
• Field Trips/Site Visits – Local Urban Farm, Denver Botanic Gardens, Pumpkin Patch, etc.
• After-School Enrichment Program – cooking and gardening classes for families
• Weather-Specific Learning Lab + Upkeep of Existing Learning Lab Materials
• Classroom supplies
• Outdoor Digital Thermometers
• Vegetable and Garden Plants
• Membership subscription to the AHTA Journal
Anchor Center provides children with visual impairments expert interventions that stimulate ALL the senses – sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste – and helps them attain developmental milestones while learning how to “see”, explore, and enjoy the world around them. Our Horticultural Program is a pivotal aspect of our multi-sensory intervention, experience and education. LEARN MORE ABOUT HORTICULTURAL THERAPY AT ANCHOR CENTER AND VIEW A PHOTO ALBUM HERE.
