Since 1982, Anchor Center for Blind Children has been nationally recognized as a leader in serving families and their children who have visual impairments (many with additional disabilities) during their most formative years of development, birth to age five.
Located in Denver, Anchor Center is the only pediatric blindness organization in Colorado – and one of just a handful in the United States – that offers a full range of center-based, home visitation, and virtual services specializing in:
– Early childhood intervention and special education
– Developmental therapies
– Vision screening, care and assessments
– Groundbreaking research
– Integrated family support
For more than 20 years, including during my time as First Lady of Colorado, I have worked with various organizations dedicated to the critical importance of early intervention for all children. I have been fortunate to be part of powerful missions similar to Anchor Center’s, helping thousands of children reach essential developmental milestones; while supporting families as they encourage their child toward a life of independence, confidence, and fulfillment.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, Anchor Center’s onsite operations are open solely to continue the education of our little ones; with strict health and safety measures in place. We are blessed with a state-of-the-art facility and have put together a beautiful on-line tour of the building, giving you an opportunity to virtually experience the Center and all that it has to offer!
I look forward to connecting with you further and introducing you to the magic of Anchor Center’s mission!
Sincerely,
Frances W. Owens
